Gentle Reminder - Again
The board continues to get complaints about trash cans/bags left at the curb prior to 5:00 pm on the day before pick up. Per our Homeowners Covenants, trash and yard waste should be kept out of view and placed at the curb no sooner than 5:00 pm the day prior to pick up. Please be considerate of your neighbors and help to keep our subdivision looking the very best.
Changing of the Guard!
Note from Elaine Weaver: Hi neighbor! My name is Elaine Weaver and I have lived in Oldfield Point since 1985-yes, 25 years! Since the neighborhood’s inception, I have played an active role in our Homeowners Association, holding the positions of President, Secretary and Street Captain, for longer than I want/care to admit. The message I am hoping to convey is that it is time for a new guard to step up and take over the reins of our Homeowners Association. We have 136 homes in our neighborhood. I believe we have a lot of talent out there that has yet to be tapped and I’m not sure exactly why that is the case. Being an officer of the HOA or serving on the Board is a quarterly commitment and offers you the opportunity to meet some of your fellow neighbors and make a difference. The challenges facing our neighborhood are few since we are a ‘mature’ subdivision and are basically on a ‘maintenance program’. The tasks associated with running this association are not difficult but need to be performed in order to keep our neighborhood looking attractive and stabilize the value of our homes. Our current Treasurer and acting President, Don Peterson, will be resigning from his positions at the end of his term in March since he and his wife are planning on moving to Tennessee. We are at a critical juncture in the association’s history and you need to play a part to ensure a smooth transition. Please ask yourself these questions: Have I done my fair share? What talents do I possess that could be utilized in my HOA? Over the years, have I benefited from the work of others? Is it my turn?
Upcoming
This is a pivotal meeting for our Homeowners Association – you can no longer assume that someone else will take the reins. That someone needs to be YOU! Please either join us at the March 23rd meeting or call Don Peterson at 260-8065 prior to the meeting to volunteer.
